Padmavathi is an Indian period drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali, jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion picture. The Film features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmini, along side Shahid Kapoor Ranveer Singh, Jim Sarabh and Adit Rao Hydri. It is currently scheduled for release on 17th November.
The Main Story Line:
The story line is mainly fictionalised on Rani Padmini, a legendary queen in Padmavat, according to Padmavt, she was the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, the ruler of Mewar. In 1303, Alauudhin Kilji, the Turkic ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, laid Siege to the Chitoor port in Rajputana. According to padmavat Kilji led led the invasion moved by his desire to capture Rani padmavat.
